Privacy, in plain English
Short version
We collect only what you type into the quiz or signup form. We use it to send you your answer, and the newsletter if you ask for it. We never sell your data. Email us and we'll delete it.
What the quiz collects
- Your email address and your consent checkbox
- Your answers: your work, business type, what eats your time, what you dislike doing, phone or computer, your goal, budget, and worries
- Whether you also asked for the newsletter
- The time you submitted
Where it is stored
- Vercel Blob: each submission is saved as a private file in our Vercel storage. It is not public.
- Google Sheet: we copy submissions into a private Google Sheet so we can review them and track replies.
- Email: your recommendation is emailed to you from the Average User team inbox.
The newsletter
The Average User Newsletter runs on Substack. If you join, Substack handles your subscription under its privacy policy. We also keep a private backup record of the signup (email, date, and which page you signed up on). Unsubscribe any time with the link in any newsletter email.
How we use it
To write and send your recommendation, to improve our guides (without naming you), and to send the newsletter if you asked for it. That's it.
What we never do
- We never sell or rent your data.
- We don't share it with advertisers or sponsors.
- We don't use ad trackers on this site.
Delete your data
Email hello@averageuser.app from the address you used and ask. We'll delete your quiz answers and backup signup record and confirm by email.
Average User is owned by Tenacié LLC, which is responsible for this policy. Questions? Contact us.
